Three 18-year-olds from Manchester walked free from court after being found not guilty of attacking a 17-year-old in the city. The trio, who allegedly hurled a torrent of abuse at the boy, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, were supposedly looking extremely smug after the verdict.
A coalition of campaigners comprising of charities including the National Autistic Society and Mencap, as well as individuals and the boy’s family have called on the government to overturn the decision.
As a result of the overwhelming response to the campaign’s call, they have now been granted a meeting with Attorney General Dominic Grieve MP to state their case.
