Aspire Magazine is a bi-monthly magazine written and produced entirely by people on the Autistic Spectrum, for people on the Autistic Spectrum.
We exist as a means of Autistics from all backgrounds to get their views across. We exist because we want to disprove the negative stereotypes being perpetuated by the bigots within the business world, the media and government. We exist because we want to show everyone what Autistics are capable of.
We want to show you that we are creative, intelligent, analytical, diverse and intelligent, with great attention to detail and the capacity to develop independent thought.
Our magazine contains news that’s relevant to people on the spectrum, as well as on Autistic individuals, groups and events. We have features on issues that affect us, such as employment, social skills, discrimination, Curebies, education and health.
We have creative content in the form of short stories, art, photography and personal anecdotes. We also feature reviews of films, music, TV programmes and websites with relevance to Autistic people, as well as a semi-regular agony-aunt section.
We are currently on our first issue, and welcome contributions from anyone on the spectrum, be they letters, news items, reviews, features or contributions to the Creative section.
If you have a website, event or blog to advertise, we’re more than happy to advertise it. If you are interested in doing any of that, feel free to contact us using the details on our Contact page on the left-hand column. Happy reading, everyone.
